Urbanista Exclusive : Jelly and Cream Interview

As I was tweeting some people, I got notification that Jelly and Cream followed me. So I began to discover that they are a British Streetwear Brand, and as you can see from my blog, I love streetwear and new upcoming brands. So I was lucky enough to email them and do a Q&A so heres what they had to say:

When did you start Jelly and Cream and what motivated you to start it?

Jelly and Cream was first launched about two years ago with a
completely different brand look that actually worked for us. Our designs used
to be illustration based and catered for a much younger audience but as we grew
our brand had to grow with us and so we re-launched earlier this year with a
whole new branding.

We started off with Jelly and Cream just being a little hobby that
we could pass time with and it started to do a lot better than we had planned
and everything just went on from there.

Where did you get your inspiration from?

Inspiration definitely comes from the way we dress ourselves and the
people around us. It has a great influence on the type of products we have come
out with. We’re very open-minded in regards to design and we definitely take to
following fashion trends.

If you could design for any celebrity who would it be and why?

That’s a tough one. We haven’t really ever thought of that. We know
a few celebs we’d love to see our stuff on; Kanye West, ASAP Rocky, Rihanna,
Rita Ora, Pharell just to name a few and simply because these individuals are
widely recognised in regards to fashion. They express individuality in the way
they dress and are very diverse in picking clothing items. That’s what

          Who is your favourite designer
at the moment?

We don’t follow any designers in particular. However, a few of the
clothing brands that we definitely favour just off the top off my head;

Norse Projects
Johnny Cupcakes

What is one key garment/item that you cannot live without?

Personally, I’m addicted to gold
jewellery. Haha. But currently I’m in love with our CREAM snapback - can’t live
without it.

Pictures of their garments:

Dream Young Crop Top                 Female Dreamers Sweatshirt
£25.00                                                                                                            £30.00

Smoke Kush Womens Vest                                  Cream Snapback

£20.00                                                                                                                                                £35.00

How to style their dream t-shirt:

For that festival  look , I would wear the Dream Young Crop Top with a black high waisted skinnys, a denim vest  and brown aztec boots.
As for accessories , I would go tribal and pair the Aztec boots with backpack and wear feather earrings,

Go Classy and Chic by dressing up the Dream Young Crop Top with a high waisted mini skirt and elongate  these legs with classic black heels. Decorate this look with a bold gold chain necklace , a red ruby ring to match the red timeless clutch and Black beaded bracelets. And don't forget , for a theatrical look add chocking red lipstick and traditional bowler hat

VMAS Fashion Flaws and Fails

Friday, 7 September 2012

         Taylor Swift                                 Rihanna                                       Zoe Saldana
I love the simplicity these 3 artists/actors wore to the VMAs last night. Its so simple and so chic
This just shows you don't need to all out on a red carpet event :)
For Example : Taylor Swift : I love Taylor's menswear chic look she has for this red carpet.
It makes her look more grown up.
Rihanna :  Simplicity is the keywith Rihanna's Killer dress. I love how simple it is
and how she went for that Halle Berry haircut and bright red lips to go with it.
Zoe Saldana: I've always admired Zoe Saldana style. She always make everything look
so perfect, especially with this. Pairing nude with dark brown make her outfit so
                                    modern and elegent   .

Alicia Keys                               Nicki Minaj                             Rita Ora
I was quite disappointed with what these 3 artists because of what they wore for the red carpet.
For 2/3 artists , I saw them live t the beginning of the summer and I love their style but they let
me down a little bit :(
For Example : Alicia Keys : for her dress its like she was wrapped up in Cling film ( no offense)
Nicki Minaj: I have nothing against the jumpsuit she wore , in fact I love it, its just
if she dyed her hair blond or even black it would have made it a lot better
Rita Ora :  I love Rita Ora's 80s/90s hip hop style but this jumpsuit is not right for her.
If the V opening was at the back, it would have made it a lot better and more chic

The Cheesecake Factory Experience

Last night I got the chance to go to The Cheesecake Factory , which was delish,
I've been wanting to go there since I went to the one in the US and now that it is here in Dubai ( Dubai Mall to be exact ) I can go there when I feel like it :D
Here a few snaps I took

The Cheesecake Factory is located on the Ground Floor

As For the food , I was mesmerized by every bite because each bite tasted like pasta heaven, so if you want good food , this is defiantly the place to come to :)

Shrimp With Angel Hair Pasta                                             Pasta Marinara

As for the desserts , their speciality was of course Cheesecakes, in every flavor you can think of, for example

Oreo,Chocolate,Cookie Dough,Raspberry,Banana,...

so with all these choices in mind , I spent 30mins deciding on what flavor to choose and eventually decided to go for the classic Strawberry Cheesecake ( which has been around for the last 30years) and it still tasted as fresh as ever.

Also if you wanted a souvenir to say "I've been to The Cheesecake Factory" you can buy t-shirts,mugs bears, plates and may more at this restaurant
