Urbanista Exclusive : Jelly and Cream Interview

Wednesday, 12 September 2012

As I was tweeting some people, I got notification that Jelly and Cream followed me. So I began to discover that they are a British Streetwear Brand, and as you can see from my blog, I love streetwear and new upcoming brands. So I was lucky enough to email them and do a Q&A so heres what they had to say:

Interview:
When did you start Jelly and Cream and what motivated you to start it?

Jelly and Cream was first launched about two years ago with a
completely different brand look that actually worked for us. Our designs used
to be illustration based and catered for a much younger audience but as we grew
our brand had to grow with us and so we re-launched earlier this year with a
whole new branding.

We started off with Jelly and Cream just being a little hobby that
we could pass time with and it started to do a lot better than we had planned
and everything just went on from there.

Where did you get your inspiration from?

Inspiration definitely comes from the way we dress ourselves and the
people around us. It has a great influence on the type of products we have come
out with. We’re very open-minded in regards to design and we definitely take to
following fashion trends.

If you could design for any celebrity who would it be and why?

That’s a tough one. We haven’t really ever thought of that. We know
a few celebs we’d love to see our stuff on; Kanye West, ASAP Rocky, Rihanna,
Rita Ora, Pharell just to name a few and simply because these individuals are
widely recognised in regards to fashion. They express individuality in the way
they dress and are very diverse in picking clothing items. That’s what

          Who is your favourite designer
at the moment?

We don’t follow any designers in particular. However, a few of the
clothing brands that we definitely favour just off the top off my head;

Norse Projects
Johnny Cupcakes
DOPE Chef
Brixton

What is one key garment/item that you cannot live without?

Personally, I’m addicted to gold
jewellery. Haha. But currently I’m in love with our CREAM snapback - can’t live
without it.

How to style their dream t-shirt:
Daytime

For that festival  look , I would wear the Dream Young Crop Top with a black high waisted skinnys, a denim vest  and brown aztec boots.
As for accessories , I would go tribal and pair the Aztec boots with backpack and wear feather earrings,

Go Classy and Chic by dressing up the Dream Young Crop Top with a high waisted mini skirt and elongate  these legs with classic black heels.
