England VS Netherlands at Wembley Stadium

Thursday, 31 March 2016
On Tuesday, my family and I attended the England vs Netherlands game at Wembley Stadium. It happened to be a  historical moment for the Gasim family because it was my mum's first football game.

During the first half of the game, the stadium payed their respect to Johan Cruyuff,  The Holland Footballer, by applauding in the 14th minute.

Although, England played very well against Germany over the weekend and winning 3:2
( Goals from Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy and Eric Dier), they didn't play to their full potential and missed so many chances.

In the end they ended up scoring one goal from Jamie Vardy in the 41st minute and got beaten by the Netherlands with 2 Goals ( 1x from Vincent Janssen, which happened to be a penalty conceded by Danny Rose. 1x from Luciano Narsingh

Black Beauty Artwork Part 1

Thursday, 17 March 2016

The Other day, I was sitting outside enjoying the beautiful sunshine and started sketching, like I used to when I was younger.

I don't know why, but I started drawing a picture of "woman with an afro", embracing her curls and it made me realise that "woman" was me. It ended up being a self portrait of self.

So I started recreating myself in different scenarios/ movements like reading a book, showing off my profile or trying a different hairstyle.

My idea is to build a collection of sketches and possibly print them on a few t-shirts and jumpers.
But we will cross that bridge when it comes to it! :)

Until then, I am going to do many more and continue to post them on here.

This is a collection I am calling "Black Beauty Artwork".

Festival Decisions?

Wednesday, 9 March 2016
Thoughts?

For the last few years, I have been attending the Wireless Festival because they always have killer line ups. However, this year, i'm slightly disappointed. There are no big artists headlining, so far, which has made me question attending this year's festival.
I respect them for giving new and current artists the chance to perform, but it would have been better if they had a big artist headlining one of the days.

Take Rihanna example,  she is has her own tour in June, as well as headlining V Festival in August.  But she will be performing with The Weeknd and  Big Sean. If they were added to the line up, then I would without a doubt attend it, 100%.

Even the Queen B, Beyonce  has her own tour this summer. So that was another potential headliner, but she isn't free on that particular weekend. For a while, I had a gut feeling that she was going to headline the Wireless Festival this year. But I guess my gut was wrong this time.

Now the real question is, which concert/festival do I attend this summer?
1. Wireless Festival at Finsbury Park in July
2. Rihanna's Anti Tour  ( ft The Weekend and Big Sean) in June
3. Beyonce's Formation Tour in July

New Music ft Bas, Dreamville

Dreamville has done it again.
They have made another killer album with their signed artist Bas.

In a podcast for Rap Radar, he stated that this album was more of a reflection on his life after last winter and the things he had to go through afterwards.

Another important thing he mentioned, was the content that he created for this album was like nothing he had ever done before and the idea that he is showing another layer of himself to his fans. This shows his growth, as an artist/creative and what he has learned from his past experiences.

" We always talk about giving people layers.
Layers of yourself. Cole talks about that all the time and that is defiantly something that has stuck with me is every project, every song, whatever you do, you want to peal back another layer if you can because if you don't, then your not telling me anything new about you. I'm not really finding anything about who you are as a person; what makes you tick and what not or how you have grown/changed, what have you been doing since last winter.

If Last Winter was me in the mists of getting a record deal and really feeling like a fan response.
Then this is more about things lost than gained..." - Bas

In life, we go through so much many things, if we want to succeed. These experiences help us become stronger and better people. So with everything I have experienced and shared on here with the world, I'm using it all to make me a stronger, happier and more creative person.

New Music Ft KDot Untitled Unmastered

Thoughts?
I have to say, Kendrick Lamar has done it again with his new album "Untitled Unmastered".  I love the title for the album because it shows how raw and original it is. No retouching. Just him in the studio creating music and sharing all of his improvised raps as well.

Every album that Kendrick has dropped has been so successful, due to his killer rap flow and how he can relate to every single fan.

I have the upmost respect for any creative, who loves what they do and shares their raw, god given talent with the world.

Make sure you show your support to him and buy the album.

Capital One Cup Final 2016

Friday, 4 March 2016
Information

As well attending London Fashion Weekend, the other main reason why I flew into London, as apposed to Birmingham, was because my dad is a big Liverpool fan and he took me to the Capital One Cup Final, where Liverpool playing against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

This wasn't the first time I went to a big match. I remember, before I left Plymouth in 2009,  back when Plymouth Argyle were in the at their prime and were in the Championship, I went to the FA Cup game where they played Arsenal. Unfortunately Plymouth lost, however it was exciting to go to the Emirates Stadium  and be around all the Plymouth and Arsenal fans and to hear them chant.

Here are some pictures from the game.
Also to all those Liverpool fans out there, I am very sorry you lost the game and didn't win the Capital One Cup However,  I know you guys did play against them again this week and won the game. :)
