Sorry for not being able to blog lately but I’ve been really
with travelling to London for the Yahoo Wireless
Festival which was held at the Olympic
Park near Stratford.
This year I was fortunate to stay 5/10mins away from the
venue so it was easier than last year where I took the underground to get
there.
Also this year, I was accompanied by my best friend Zain Eltigani and my 3 other cousins so
it was more crazier and more fun.
Hosted by
Similar to last year, Wireless Festival was hosted by Kiss FM UK.

So here is my Festival Diary for this year:
Friday 12th
July ( Day 1 of the festival)
In total the crowd was about 40,000 people
12pm- 1300 : Me
and Zain and my cousins waited in
line and tried to get as close to the main stage as we could.
1300-13:30 : Conor
Maynard opened up the festival
with his no 1 tracks from his album
Contrast :Vegas Girl , Turn Around Cant Say No and Animal. He also did a cover of Daft Punk Get Lucky

13:50 -14:30 : Wretch
32 smashed his set and got he crowd dancing to all of his tracks.
14:50- 15:30 : Ke$ha electrified her performance by having a lot of
syncronised routines and some slightly bizarre surprises however she performed Tik Tok Blow ,We R Who We R and Blah Blah
Blah and a few others.
15:55-16:40 : Miguel gave some jazz and r&b
flavour to his set. He played Sure Thing
, How many drinks, All I want is you
and Adorn
17:05-17:50 : John
Legend blew the crowd with his incredible set. From starting his set with Used to Love You to singing other hits
like Tonight ( Best you ever had) , Save room and my favourite Ordinary People.
18:20-19:10 Trey
Songz was my favourite act for
the festival. I’ve been waiting to see him for very long time and luckily he
didn’t disappoint.
By singing Say Ahh,
Simply Amazing, Bottoms Up 2 Reasons and Heart attack , I was mesmorized by his presence and blown away by
how amazing he was.
19:40-20:40 Snoop
Dogg/Lion was an interesting act but he the one thing that made his
performance great was he sang all the songs that the crowd knew such as;
Drop it like its hot,
Beautiful, P.I.M.P , Signs and Young
Wild and Free.
Also Rita Ora made
a surprise appearance on Snoop’s set.
21:20-23:00 Justin
Timberlake owned the stage and even had a few celebrities watching his set
from the VIP seating such as Rita Ora and
Frank Ocean.
The songs he sang included Cry Me a River , My Love, Rock Your Body, Sexy Back, Summer Love, Until
The End Of Time , What Goes Around and Mirrors
and Suit and Tie from his new
album and surprisingly Jay Z performed
his verse for Suit and Tie along
side JT
Saturday 13th
July (Day 2 and last day of the festival)
In total the crowd was about 40,000 people.
12pm- 1300 : Me
and Zain and my cousins waited in
line and tried to get as close to the main stage as we could.
1300-13:40 : Earth
Wind and Fire a band that was popular in the 80s/90s performed back on
stage giving the crowd a retro, old school feel.
14:05-14:45 DJ Fresh/
Live hyped up the crowd by
singing bangers….
15:05-15:45
Macklemore and Ryan Lewis performance was another smashing performance
because towards the end of his set, Macklemore
came off the stage and crowd
surfed. The two big hits that he sang were of course Thriftshop and Cant hold us with
Ryan Lewis.
16:05-16:50 Miguel once
again returned onto the stage and played the same set as the day before.
17:15-18:00 Kendrick
Lamar was a rapping sensation. Not only did he perform his hit songs, he
also did a freestyle at the end of his set , which blew the crown away.
The tracks played were
Swimming Pools (Drank), Poetic Justice, Money Trees, B**** Don’t Kill My Vibe and his verse from F***in’ Problem.
18:25-19:15 Rita Ora returned
back onto the main stage singing tracks from her debut album ORA such as opening up he set with Radioactive then moving on to the other
tracks like Been Lying, Hot Right Now , Shine Your Light, How We Do and R.I.P.
19:40-20:40 Emeli
Sande blew the crowd away with her amazing/unique voice.
The 2 tracks I
adored the most were Beneath Your
Beautiful and Read All about it.
21:20-23:00 The
rapstar legend himself ..JAY Z killed the stage by mixing his set from old
tunes such as Bonnie and Clyde and
new tunes from his new album Magna Carta
Holy Grail.
His set line up included Tom Ford, Holy Grail (in which JT came on to the
stage and performed with him) Clique,Run
This Town, Empire State of Mind, Hard Knock Life , his verse from Crazy In
Love…etc

the duo Justin Timberlake and JAY Z.

Festival
Essentials
From this festival, I have learnt what to pack and what not
to pack for a festival and what to wear for the festivals.
Clothes
Wear comfortable clothing ,such as jeans and a t-shirt or
shorts and as for accessories I would go for a tribal look, like feathers and
aztec prints
Carry waterproofs such as umbrellas, ponchos ,waterproof
jackets and trousers for the wet weather.
Luckily for me this year it was very sunny and hot. So I learned
to pack sunscreen, a towel, sunglasses , a sunhat and bottles of water.
As for footwear, I would advise people to wear wellies or Dr
Martens because at festivals can be very muddy , so wearing trainers and uggs
would get ruined reli quickly unless its sunny then wear flip flops and
sandals.
What to pack in a
bag
Phone, Money for merchandise and snacks, camera, mints and
chewing gum, sunglasses, umbrella , big bottle of water ( keep it light so you
don’t have to carry a lot)
