Winter Time Essentials ft King Saddle

Thursday, 27 October 2016

With wintertime arriving, I feel it is essential to invest in a good coat, a pair of boots and some woolen wear ie; scarves, hats, jumpers/cardigans, to keep yourself comfortable and warm, during the crazy weather changes of unpredictable rain, freezing cold air and the sight hope of sunshine.

So let me recommend buying a pair of boots from King Ranch . With its history dating back to the Civil War, durable leather goods of handbags, boots..etc and a family of generations working on creating the best quality, you can't go wrong with any of their products.

Apartment Style Bedroom

Tuesday, 25 October 2016

For any creative person, it is important to have your own space to be motivated and inspired to work and do your thing.

So, when I made the decision to head back home to Plymouth, I wanted make sure I had the space I needed to create and work on projects. This meant that for the past few weeks, I have been decluttering and re- doing my entire room.

Although the process was tiring,  I happy to say it is finally done and I could not be any more prouder of what I have done.

Inspiration

With any project start on, I always have to look for an inspiration. So for my room it was Industrial, meaning; stone/brick wall, grey walls and quirky furniture. I found the best place to find pictures and research was Pinterest

( Here is a board I created on Pinterest.

I would like to add, when I did a collaboration with Make Space  in the summertime,  they asked me " What would your dream closet look like?" I posted the following, which was the same decor and inspiration as my room right now.

Room Redo In Action

Here is what I doccumented on Snapchat.

End Result

Bedroom Area

The pictures that are hanging on my wall were purchased from John Lewis, Etsy, Camden Market and my own work.

The Wallpaper and paint I used on my walls were Graham & Brown Fresco Ledgestone  and Colours Matt Grey Hint, which I purchased  from B&Q.

As for my beanbag, I purchased at Kas Australia in Dubai Mall, before I left last year.

Desk Area

With this desk, I liked the idea that it looked like an easel, which is what artists use to hold their canvases. So I decided to place my printer, my sewing and supplies in each of the bottom shelves.

With my desk, I wanted it to be a library/ working space, which is why I have my bookshelf above my desk and one beside it.

The actual desk itself is Linnmon/Finnvard from Ikea,  which they have in white, grey, birch (wood) and black.

Dresser and Wardrobe Area

For my dressing area, I wanted it to be closer to my wardrobe and have it all in one place.
It is also something I got from Ikea, which is called Brimnes (Dressing Table)

Birthday Trip to Milan, Italy

Monday, 10 October 2016

For the first time ever, I was able to travel to a different country for my birthday. It normally never happens because I am either in school, university or with friends and family in UK or Dubai.

But for my 23rd Birthday this year , I was able to take a trip to Milan, Italy with my family. I have visited Italy in the summer of 2008, I went to Venice with my brother and dad. But I have never seen the main cities such as; Milan, Rome, Sicily, Florence..etc.

Milan is a fashion capital, along with Paris, New York, Tokyo and now Dubai. It is the home to many famous designers and even has its own fashion week, which I just missed out on unfortunately. So for me to visit another fashion capital in one summer, was a such a blessing. I hope that in my lifetime, I am able to visit all of the fashion capitals of the world.

One thing, I did see a lot of in Milan was exhibitions for Leonardo Da Vinci. They even had a statue in the centre of Duomo. It was remarkable to see the artworks, manuscripts and displays of his work up close and understand how he created so many timeless pieces.

The day of my birthday, my family and I took a trip to Lake Como, which is north of Milan. It is the third biggest lake in Italy and one of the largest lakes in Europe. Along the shores ( East, North, South and West) there are a great amount of small towns and villages. The ones I visited were Como, Bellagio and Varenna. Each one had a different feel but all with the same breathtaking view of the mountains and the lake. It was such a blessing to see something as beautiful as this on my birthday.
The pictures I took could not capture the amount of beauty that Allah has blessed it with.

I would also like to add the Una Hotel,  made my birthday even more special, by adding a surprise gift waiting for me, after I returned from my day trip to Como.

After tweeting  about it, the district manager of the hotel and the hotel itself tweeted me "Happy Birthday." So to all of the workers and the manager, I would like to say thank you! :)
