2010 Recap

Hey guys :)

Heres a recap of all the fashion events I've been to since I've lived in Dubai ( and so far I'm so great-full towards my family who have supported me by moving here if i wasn't for them I wouldn't be here right now :)

• Port Elliott Festival ( being able to meet Anna Sui, Luella Bartley and a fashion editor from British Vogue
• Fashion Preview - Bloomingdales Dubai Mall
• Harpers Bazaar's Fortnight of Fashion- Dubai Mall ( being able to meet Rania Hein, Whitney Port, Christiano Sirino , a fashion editor from Harpers Bazaar Arabia)
• Who's Next Event- Madiynat Jumeriah ( being able to help out at the Ayesha Depalla Fahsion Show.
• Dubai Fahsion Week - Atlantis
• Sonya Ryichel Address Hotel ( being able to meet the creative director of Sonya Ryichel)
• ESMOD Mutation Fashion Show ( being able to model my own design in the fashion show) ( Pictures from the show will be on here soon :)

So for the next year I hope that more chances like these :D And I hope I will be able to meet my Idol ... Lauren Conrad :D

Favourite Illustrator

The other day in university, we were given an assignment to discover our favourite fashion illustrator so i decided to research Danny Roberts.

Danny Roberts is an American based artist.In his Lifetime he has collaborated with many famous people such as:

· Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers clothing line (he did the fashion illustrations on her bags and other bits of various garments)

Whos Next Event

Sorry i haven't been able to blog lately, i have been so busy with university projects and what not. But however i wanted to blog about the event that i was recently helping with. The event was called "Whos Next Premiere " it was an event where new designers. For example Ayesha Depalla was one of the designers i helped out with . Her Gowns were breath talking :)

Funny Days at Uni

Fashion Uni is great at the moment !! I love having professionals as teachers for example my Fashion Culture Teacher has worked with Jean Paul Gauiter and my Fashion Design teacher is Deborah Henning who has her own label which made to London Fashion Week in 2008-09 and heres a very interesting fact :

"Alexis Lavigne was a French tailor and inventor. Alexis Lavigne invented the couture mannequin and the supple measuring tape. In 1841 he created Esmod, the first fashion school in the world."

Since i have been here , i have made some amazing friends , had great fashion opportunities and just generally being happy here :)

First Day of Fortnight of Fashion

Yesterday I went to the an event at Symphony Store in Dubai Mall called " Meet The Designers". This event was the kick start of the big fashion event in Dubai Mall called " The Fortnight of Fashion" which is hosted by Harpers Bazzar Arabia.

Whilst i was there i got the chance to meet some ahhmazing people such as Whitney Port, Christiano Sirano,Erin Fetherson, Rania Hein ( Americas Next Top Model Winner) and Camilla Skovgard and also a representative fromHarpers Bazaar Arabia.

Fashion Preview at Bloomingdales

Yesterday, i went to a fashion ; at Bloomingdales in Dubai Mall and had an amazing time .

The designers that were previewed were Alexander Mcqueen, Ellie Tahari and many others.

The trends showed included

• Faux fur
• Military
• Lace
• Metalics
• Graphic prints
• Animal Prints

My New Favourite Shop

Today i visited Dubai Mall, (the biggest shopping mall in the world :) and have just discovered my new favourite shop/boutique and it is called S*uce.

I found so many amazing pieces of clothing there and i will say this ... if you are in Dubai and you have the time and money ... i suggest you take a little trip there and have a look around :)

New Fashion Discovery

Yesterday I went to Ibn Battuta Mall just outside Dubai, and i discovered a new designer calledNahui Ollin.

This designer makes bags from candy/sweet wrappers and magazine pages.
